If I'm honest, I was a little bored!
After a rocky start for this production (which was almost pulled completely) it was great to see the fruits of our labour finally pay off. We had a great review in the Leamington Courier (even if they couldn't decide whether my name is Staton or Stanton!) http://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/ColderThanHere, which I think summed up how we all perceived this play - even if it had taken us a while to reach this conclusion!
I have to admit, I am surprised
though about how many things I'll miss about this play, as it's been such an emotional roller coaster for Jenna, the character that I've been playing. Supposedly post eating-disorder at the beginning, with boyfriend issues and obvious personality clashes with other members of her family, she develops through scenes of tearfulness, anger, shouting and bad language into being a nice, fairly well rounded individual (there's hope for me yet!). I have developed a fondness for this character and I will miss the clash of personality I had with my stage counterpart, Hannah, who played Jenna's sister, Harriet.
3 Things I'll miss!
- M&S Jaffa Cakes - these really are amazing!
- Sibling Rivalry - I never had a sister, and it's been a long time since I fought with either of my brothers!
- The Yorkshire Accent - OK, so it wasn't really a proper one, but I enjoyed doing an impression of Andrew (who played Jenna's father, Alec)
3 Things I won't miss!
- "Vegetarian Sausage Rolls" - Which were in fact cheese & onion rolls. Quite nice except for having to pretty much eat one whole!
- Fry's Peppermint Cream - never got into the mint chocolate idea.
- Diluted Coffee - Unfortunately it wasn't real white wine I was drinking on stage... such a shame!
I hope that there'll be some pictures I can put up on the blog soon, but in the meantime I'll bid a fond farewell to Jenna, and the rest of the Bradley family.
ST x
